Change place and your worth will change too

Image
A bottle of water in the supermarket is worth about Sh50 . The same bottle in a bar costs sh70. In a good restaurant or hotel it can be worth up to 200sh. At the Airport or the plane, you may be charged Sh500. The bottle and the brand is the same, the only thing that changes is the place. Each place gives a different value to the same product. When you feel like you are worth nothing and everyone around you belittles you, change places, do not stay there. Have the courage to change places and go to where you are given the value that you deserve. Surround yourself with people who really appreciate your worth. Don't settle for less. The more chances you give people, the more they stop valuing you. Don’t let people to be too comfortable when it comes to disrespecting you.

A True friend is seen during Hardships

When Ronaldino, one of the greatest footballers of our time was arrested alongside his brother Roberto Assis over fake Passport issue in Paraguay and detained at Agrupacion Especializida Maximum security prison for 32 days, only two players visited him; that is Samuel E'too and Paraguay International Nelson Cuevas. Later, E'too would call every evening to know how he was faring and gave him hope that things would be okay. Not even his mom, wife or siblings would do that. After pleading guilty to the charges, the two were fined £20, 000 plus legal charges totalling to £27,000. When he informed Etoo about the sentence and the huge fine, Etoo responded " Don't worry bro, I will take care of everything," and he wired the money so that Ronaldino could be released. Of all prominent friends Ronaldino made at the peak of his career, only that African that was once called a " monkey" by racist Spanish and Italian fans was there for him. Often, t...

How you handle bad people and good people determine your success or failure

Image
Brace yourself. On this journey, you will have disappointments. You will have setbacks. Indeed, you will fail in some of your endeavours. It is a very cynical world out there; you will be made to doubt yourself. Don't allow yourselves to be worn down by these; don't throw your hands up in despair. Let me make the observation that you will meet good people too. How you handle the good and bad people will determine your success or failure.

You are not late, your time is coming.

Someone graduated at the age of 22, but waited 5years before securing a good job. Someone became a CEO at 25, and died at 50.While another became a CEO at 50, and lived to 90years. Someone is still single, while someone from hisschool group has become grandfather. Obama retired at 55 & Trump started at 70. Everyone in this world works based on their timezone. People around you might seem ahead of you & some might seem to be behind you. But everyone is running their own race, in their owntime. Do not envy them. They are in their time zone, and you are in yours. So, relax. You're not late. You're not early. You are very much on time.

Walk away

Walking is the best exercise. Walk Away from arguments that lead you to nowhere but anger. Walk Away from people who deliberately put you down. Walk Away from any thought that reduces your worth. Walk Away from failures and fears that stiffle your dreams. The more you Walk Away from things that poison your soul, the happier your life becomes.

Life has no formula, just do your thing; if it works, it works.

Sportpesa CEO Ronald Karauri went to Mangu High School to collect his KCSE certificate; over 20 years after he sat for KCSE. After high school, he went to the University of Nairobi where he was studying Mechanical Engineering, but dropped out mid-way. He was in his third year when he dropped out to take up an offer as a graduate pilot trainee at Kenya Airways (KQ). He said he has been using results slip as a confirmation that he sat the national exam. He joined the national carrier in January 2003 where he worked as an airline pilot until December the same year. Later in the year, he was promoted to the position of a captain, a position he diligently served until 2014 when he left to start SportPesa alongside other partners. By the way, his wife… Captain Ruth Karauri, the pilot who landed a KQ plane amid some heavy storm in the UK last month, also didn’t attend university. She was recruited by KQ straight out of high school through KQs Ab Initio pilot programme where th...

No one knows what your tomorrow holds.

Ladies and gentlemen"  I'm old enough to confess that life is indeed a mystery. I've seen a Landlord becoming a tenant .  I know of a student who became the headmaster in his former school with most of those who taught him still teaching. I have seen once-rejected boy becoming the breadwinner for a whole community. In life, no one knows tomorrow; you can never trust life, because it's mysterious. Never ever forget, you may not know the full story, don't be quick to judge, every coin has two sides. Treat everyone in your life fairly like your own; love as much as you live. So let us be kind, not try to be smart in our own eyes; for we do not know what tomorrow holds for us. Life is a merry-go-round, no one knows where tomorrow finds you well. May peace be with you.
