Life has no formula, just do your thing; if it works, it works.

Sportpesa CEO Ronald Karauri went to Mangu High School to collect his KCSE certificate; over 20 years after he sat for KCSE.

After high school, he went to the University of Nairobi where he was studying Mechanical Engineering, but dropped out mid-way.

He was in his third year when he dropped out to take up an offer as a graduate pilot trainee at Kenya Airways (KQ). He said he has been using results slip as a confirmation that he sat the national exam.
He joined the national carrier in January 2003 where he worked as an airline pilot until December the same year. Later in the year, he was promoted to the position of a captain, a position he diligently served until 2014 when he left to start SportPesa alongside other partners.

By the way, his wife… Captain Ruth Karauri, the pilot who landed a KQ plane amid some heavy storm in the UK last month, also didn’t attend university. She was recruited by KQ straight out of high school through KQs Ab Initio pilot programme where they recruit people with little or no flight training, train them and absorb them in the airline. She was sent to Ethiopia for training.

In short, life has no formula… just do your thing; if it works, it works. If it doesn’t; the world needs people who complain about food prices to, do your part ‘Mr. I can’t Date Women with MakeUps’. Yes, you too Lizzy, whose name on the birth certificate is actually Elisabeth (not Elizabeth).

Also; the guy has put up a building with his name on it in his former school, and brought in a retired place to sit next to it.
